Description

We meet in Piazza del Campidoglio near the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. You will admire the architectural style of the piazza dating back to the 1500s, planned and designed by Michelangelo. We will then move onto the Capitoline Museums, the most important museum in Rome, which contains one of the most important collections of ancient art, including the famous Capitoline she-wolf and busts of Roman emperors. We will visit Santa Maria in Aracoeli and admire the art within it, such as the beautiful frescos by Pinturicchio. Our visit will end with a climb up the imposing staircase of the Vittoriano, monument devoted to the first king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II. On the terrace, you will get a magnificent view over the city.
