BUS TOUR TO HADRIAN’S VILLA
Piazza della Repubblica
100€ per person
Villa Adriana was designed and built by Emperor Hadrian. It covers over ten acres of land, and is organised like a small city, with buildings of different dimensions throughout.
It once had a collection of prestigious works of art, which are now scattered across various museums around the world. A handful of sculptures are still visible in the “antiquarium” near the Villa, while others are preserved in the Capitoline Museums.
From Villa Adriana we move onto Villa D’Este, with its amazing gardens and fountains, fed by the numerous springs in the area. There are hundreds of fountains; some very basic, others more intricate, such as the “organ fountain” which has recently been restored and plays every 12 hours.
The tour takes a whole day; we get to Tivoli with a private coach and the rest of the visit is on foot.
We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and practical shoes. No heels.
The tour is fully accessible.
